Summer 2025:
School-Aged Camps: We have two camp offerings this summer for school-aged children 6-12 years old. Both camps will take place Monday-Thursday from 10am-2pm at the Family Place. The first camp is a Dance camp led by Sierra Knight from July 14-17, and the second is a Karate camp led by Sensei Martin from July 21-24th. There are still spaces available for the second week of the camp: August 11-15. We are thrilled to bring back drop-ins this summer. The Arbutus Room of the Family Place will be open every Friday from 10-12 for freeplay. Aimed at families with kids 0-5 (older siblings welcome). We have a variety of toys, gross-motor equipment, and art supplies ready for your young ones! These sessions are free and no registration is required. Fall Fair: MIECS is teaming up with the Mayne Island Skateboard Club (MISC) to collaborate on a skateboard-themed parade entry for this year's Fall Fair Parade! The Fall Fair takes place on Saturday August 16th, with the parade taking place in the morning. We invite you to walk in the parade with us, and encourage you to wear your brightest clothes! We will share more logistics-related details for the parade closer to the event. There will be two Parade Prep sessions:
Summer Swim Parties: Join us at David's Cove for swimming, snacks, safety equipment and information, and fun! These outdoor swim parties will take place on Friday August 22 & Friday August 29 in the afternoons. More details will be released closer to the dates. Please keep an eye out for flyers on community bulletin boards and social media for more information. An annual $5 MIECS membership is required to participate, and can also be purchased at the door. Payment can be by cash or e-transfer. All activities take place at the Mayne Island Family Place at 493A Felix Jack Road
